Bulls and AI Sires
We use artificial insemination exclusively and below are a selection of the Bulls used in the breeding program at Leahton Park, both past and present. We use the best genetics available in Australia and work with other leading Texas Longhorn breeders in this country to import semen from some of the best AI sires in the USA.
Using the best genetics available has allowed us to see an exponential improvement in our herd to the point where we have not only improved the overall quality of the cattle, but the resultant improvement in horn growth has been tremendous. We featured Drag Iron above because in our opinion he is the best bull we have ever used and is the sire over our first two 72 inch horned cows.
